Ancient Greece Hyperdoc

Jackson Crash Course

Inquiry Hyperdocs

I am always trying new methods for students to interact with information in more engaging ways. I create mini tasks for students to complete with each source in a hyperdoc. They love it and it pushes their thinking past a textbook!

Engaging Projects

Students in my classes will have opportunities for learning and assessment via purposeful, engaging projects.

Students have written Hittite Spy Journals to show their understanding of Ancient Egyptian daily life, created makerspace fictional civilizations at the end of the year to showcase their knowledge of the aspects of civilization, and my 8th graders wrote a children's illustrated version of the Declaration of Independence to help break down the complicated language.

Interactive Simulations

I try and get my students interacting with history outside of the textbook as much as possible and simulations do just that. In Ancient Civilizations, I led my class on a tour down the Nile River to learn about the Accomplishments of the pharaohs. In US History, students split up as Patriots and Loyalists and prepared for and held a Colonial town meeting to persuade the Neutralists to join their cause.
